LAX Temperature | 14 - 23 °C |

If weather is an important factor for your trip to Los Angeles, use this chart to help with planning. For those seeking warmer temperatures, July is the ideal time of year to visit, when temperatures reach an average of 23.0 C. Travellers hoping to avoid the cold should look outside of January, when temperatures are typically at their lowest (around 14.0 C).
As with all flights, if you are flexible with your dates you are more likely to save money. If you want to find the cheapest flights to Los Angeles then it is recommended to book around 6 months in advance. If you can’t book that far in advance, then waiting until roughly seven weeks before should help you shave some money off of the price of your flights to Los Angeles. That said, if you are planning to visit the Academy Awards for example, or want to experience Christmas in Los Angeles, make sure to get your flight tickets as far in advance as possible. Flights during holiday periods and major events very rarely drop in price so the sooner you book, the better. If you can, try to book seats on the right hand side of the plane. A lot of flights to Los Angelas tend to land from the east so the right hand side offers amazing views of the Los Angeles River, the Hollywood sign, downtown LA and the San Gabriel mountains. If you happen to be on a night flight to Los Angeles, either side of the plane will amaze you through the neon lights of the city.

It was weird that we had to check after security and go to a corral which had no bathroom or other services about an hour before boarding. Had to check out of the corral to leave and check back in.

Los Angeles International Airport is located 26km (16 miles) southwest of downtown Los Angeles. As the sixth-busiest airport in the world, it’s hardly surprising that LAX serves as a primary gateway to this region of the United States. Flights to Los Angeles International Airport arrive daily from major international hubs across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.
Los Angeles International has nine terminal buildings and on average it serves approximately 60 million passengers per year, and handles more than 600,000 aircraft take-offs and landings. Currently there is a project underway to build an additional terminal building west from the Tom Bradley International Terminal. The terminal will have ten gates, and is expected to be completed in 2012.
As this is a busy mega-airport, queues can be long and chaotic. The best thing to do would be to give yourself plenty of time to get all of the hassles of checking in and clearing customs over with, and then relax at one of the restaurants or pubs and get a nice big meal and a refreshing drink. Then, if you still have some time to spare, you could do a little gift shopping for that special someone.
